Working together to achieve Agenda 2030 in Sindh
Establishing the Sindh SDGs Unit within the Planning and Development Department, Sindh exemplifies the Government of Sindh’s commitment to supporting the Agenda 2030. This initiative, aligned with the reforms initiated by the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Reform, Government of Pakistan, underscores the government’s dedication to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. Specifically, the SDG Plus Programme Project seeks to strengthen a whole of government policy integration approach, more resilient institutional capacities, diversified partnerships, mobilization of innovative financing, and integrating climate resilience, innovation, and inclusion to help Sindh embark on a stable, sustainable, and accelerated trajectory of achieving the SDGs. The objective/broad outcome of the project is ‘An Enabling Environment for the achievement of SDGs in Sindh, prioritizing communities and districts most marginalized and at the risk of being left behind’. The programme’s broader outcome/objective is anchored by an integrated framework comprising three objectives
based on the provincial priorities, namely:
A) Improved governance for SDGs aligned equitable
and inclusive development planning, budgeting,
expenditure tracking, monitoring and reporting,
focusing on least developed districts to achieve regional
equalization.
B)Public and Private financing for development
structured, identifying, and channeling resources to
reduce the development financing gap, focusing on
SDG investments and climate financing.
C) Gender inclusiveness, inclusion, innovation and
digital transformation mainstreamed in SDGs to
achieve Leave No One Behind.
