Sindh Human Rights Commission and the Legal Aid Society

The Unit participated in a consultation session hosted by The Sindh Human Rights Commission and the Legal Aid Society. The purpose of the meeting was to develop departmental plans for effectively implementing the Child Marriage Restraint Act of 2013. Representatives from various government departments attended, including health, law, education, and social welfare.

During the meeting, participants discussed short-term, immediate, and long-term strategies to address the issue of child marriage and protect the rights of young citizens. The ultimate goal of the meeting was to create comprehensive plans to prevent child marriages from occurring.

Barrister Omar Soomro, the Minister for Law and Human Rights, was the Chief Guest and expressed his commitment to the cause. His support adds an invaluable dimension to the collective efforts to champion human rights
