The SDGs Support Unit at UNDP Pakistan participated in a panel discussion at the Pakistan International Maritime Expo & Conference (PIMEC) in Karachi on scaling climate-resilient settlement planning across Sindh.

UNDP’s Project Manager, Shah Khalid, joined experts from Sindh People’s Housing For Flood Affectees (SPHF) and NED University of Engineering and Technology to discuss the Climate Resilient Settlement Development Plan (CRSDP) — a multi-sectoral model integrating technology, community engagement, and sustainable infrastructure.

What began as a pilot supporting 755 households is now expanding to 40,000 settlements, strengthening the resilience of 20 million people across Sindh. This initiative reflects meaningful progress toward achieving the SDGs and Pakistan’s NDC commitments.

We acknowledge the leadership and collaboration of SPHF, CRS, UN-Habitat, and UNIDO in driving this initiative. Their collaboration reflects the vital role of the development sector in delivering climate-resilient solutions to vulnerable communities.
